New Market Study Published: Eggs in China
The total volume consumption of eggs rose to 28 million tonnes, with growth of 4% in 2012. Chinese consumers have a long history of raising poultry and eating eggs; thus fresh eggs was still one of the most common foods in China in the review period. Thus, the sufficient supply of eggs thanks to mature breeding, as well as increasing per capita consumption of eggs, especially in rural areas, contributed to the rising consumption of eggs.
