U.S. Importing Phosphorus to Protect Its Own Resources
The U.S was rich in phosphorus ore, and it once was the largest producer of phosphorus ore . However, phosphorus is a non-renewable resource. In the aim to protect its resources, the U.S has limited the export and exploitation of phosphorus ore since 1980s. In recent years, its production has been less than that of China and begun to export phosphorus ore from Morocco.
