American National Standards Institute Sets Out Two New Classifications for the Workplace
Seattle, WA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/30/2016 -- With so many aspects of a business that are pressing on owners and CEOs, it is no wonder than first aid compliance is not always on their collective radar. Frequently, companies both large and small are not in compliance with the standards set out by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), which oversees the promulgation and use of thousands of norms and guidelines that directly impact businesses in nearly every sector, including acoustical devices, construction equipment, dairy, livestock, energy distribution, and more. Fortunately, the team at First Aid Supplies Online is helping companies meet those standards in a timely manner via their compliance page. Previously, the standards had been outlined on the company blog, but in response to customer desires, they recently decided to establish the ANSI Z308 Compliance Page on their website. The page details the two classifications for first aid kits in the workplace: Class A and Class B.
"Ultimately, we sought to de-mystify the equipment needed to be in compliance, and given the requests of our customers we recognized the need to create this informative page," explained Sales Manager Chris Westwood. He continued, saying "This new standard is definitely important because it represents the standard that OSHA refers to as the minimum requirement for a workplace first aid kit."
When the compliance law went into effect in June 2016, many business owners were unsure of the specifics that the new standard dictated. Not only are each of the line items listed on this helpful page, but each of the items are linked to the actual items on the website for easy purchase. Class A kits include contents designed to deal with most common types of workplace injuries, while Class B kits contain a broader range and quantity of supplies designed to deal with injuries in more complex or high-risk environments. The page even has a link to a useful recommendation blog post that informs customers on the particulars of what constitutes a high-risk environment.
