Washington, DC -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/23/2018 -- William Jones will be speaking at several events throughout Iowa, New York, and Maryland from January 13th until February 26th. This is the chance to meet driving force behind the Afrofuturism Network, ask questions, hear presentations, participate in Q&As, and much, more.

The new year looks encouraging for the Afrofuturism Network. Jones is, "positively overwhelmed and excited about 2018. The AFN has gotten off to an incredible start, and I hope to continue this momentum throughout the new year."

Witness a talented and insightful pioneer of the Afrofuturism movement speak at one of these several events:

On January 13th, from 11:30am to 12:45 pm at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture (Harlem, NY) come see Jones participate as part of a round table discussion at the 6th Annual Black Comic Book Festival. The panel will be discussing the "Differential Powers in the African Diaspora."

On February 1st, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Jones will be giving a presentation and book reading followed by a signing at the African American Museum of Iowa (Cedar Rapids, IA).

On February 3rd, Jones will be performing a presentation followed by a signing at Cedar Rapids Comic Con (Cedar Rapids, IA).

On February 6th, from 5:30-6:30 PM at the Largo-Kettering Branch Library (Largo, MD), Jones will lead a Comic book art workshop with the theme of Black History Month.

On February 18th at 2:30 PM, Jones will participate in a Pre-Black Panther movie discussion/presentation with the Baltimore County Jack and Jill of America at Cinemark Towson (Towson, MD).

On February 23rd, Jones will address students at Buck Lodge Middle School's for their Black History Program (Hyattsville, MD) and speaking on the history of black comic books, characters, and their connections to the Civil Rights Movement.

On February 26th, from 5:30-6:30 PM, Jones returns to Prince George County to lead another Black History month themed art workshop at the Laurel Branch Library (Laurel, MD).

And on February 27th, Jones will give a presentation on the history of Black Panther and its place in American History at the Sandy Spring Friends School (Sandy Spring, MD).

This is the opportunity to see the much in demand, force behind the Afrofuturism Network and growing movement in America, William Jones, speak on the growing cultural phenomenon.
