Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/22/2019 -- Phosphor bronze is an alloy of copper with 0.5–11% of tin and 0.01–0.35% phosphorus. The tin increases the corrosion resistance and strength of the alloy. The phosphorus increases the wear resistance and stiffness of the alloy. These alloys are notable for their toughness, strength, low coefficient of friction, and fine grain. The phosphorus reduces the viscosity of the molten alloy, which makes it easier and cleaner to cast and reduces grain boundaries between crystallites.
Nowadays, there are three mainly types of Phosphor Bronze Strips. Different types of products have different applications. High Cu strips, was generally used in sensitive component, and low Cu strips was generally used in wear parts and elastic components. The share of different types of products varies from country to country.
Phosphor Bronze Strips were mainly used in Wear Parts, with over 90% share in recent years, followed by Elastic Components, with about 8% share.
