Carteret, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/27/2014 -- Dr. Harmer has been licensed in optometry since 1975 when he received his optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Harmer has been a member of the NJSOP for 43 years and has served on the board of directors for the over 650-member organization since 2009.

In addition to his state affiliations, Dr. Harmer is a member of the American Optometric Association, the National Glaucoma Society, and the Optometric Council on Refractive Surgery.

He served as Clinical Director for TLC Vision Laser Eye Centers in Elmwood Park, NJ from 1998 to 2009, after which he became the Clinical Director of the Dry Eye Center of Excellence at Omni Eye Services and the Clinical Director of Clarity Refractive Services, both in West Orange, NJ.
