Lehi, UT -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/22/2014 -- While Jamie Glaser can walk down the street and not be recognized; almost everyone in the world has heard his music gracing some of the top Emmy award-winning shows such as Seinfeld and Married with Children. With his guitar licks also featuring on almost two-hundred albums, Glaser is in fact a very visible force in the world of entertainment. However, those walking past Glaser are also not privy to something more powerful – the fact that he was recently homeless and battling some of the worst depression one could be diagnosed with.
This dramatic life change came as a direct result of the Northridge Earthquake in California. Through his new book, ‘Hear The Silence’, Glaser depicts this tumultuous period as well as chronicling his journey back to success.
Synopsis:
Hear The Silence is about healing , strength, courage , love of oneself and others. In 1994 studio musician, performer, music composer and producer Jamie Glaser was in the Northridge Earthquake in California, when the shaking stopped nothing was the same. From 1978 to 1994 he toured the world with Grammy award winning musical acts, lived the good life in Los Angeles, and suddenly found himself unable to get out of bed for 6 months. Jamie lost all his worldy possessions in the days following the earthquake, his self-esteem, his quality work and eventually found himself homeless and without hope. Hear The Silence tells the story of life lessons and experiences that brought him back from the "dead" to the wonderful life he has today and inspires others to celebrate with him.
“This book could easily change the life of anyone suffering from PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder and a slew of other mental illnesses,” explains Glaser. “It’s a bold story of being at the top and then suddenly hitting life’s bottom. What follows is a journey to an even greater life; a life that any reader can also achieve.”
Continuing, “When you fall down, you can get up and stand taller than you did before. However, it’s a decision and commitment each individual must make. If they’re willing to strive for it, my story will inspire them and kick-start the change.”
Since its release, the book has garnered rave reviews. Roger Mills comments, “This book will, if you are open minded and willing to really examine yourself, show you ways to deal with life's downs and ups. Life really is unfair, but using gifts you may not be aware you possess, you can make your way through to your happiness. Teaching music is not the only gift Mr. Glaser has to share with us. Thank you for sharing your tough times with the readers.”
Melody adds, “More than the description in Amazon, this book is about finding joy in any situation and remembering what is really important in our lives. I loved it and I bet everyone can get something from this book. Wonderful!”

Words spill out of him with candor and passion as he shares what it feels like to be lost, disheartened and ultimately triumphant. You can feel his commitment to offering all he can to his readers so they can learn from the pitfalls he encountered on his own journey.”
