Homes of Promise Encourages Celebration of Life and Recovery

La Verne, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/07/2014 -- Homes of Promise, a non-profit organization that strives to provide a safe environment and fellowship to individuals who have been victims of substance abuse and addiction, encourages celebration of life and recovery through a sober living environment and a number of recovery and learning programs.

Homes of Promise is dedicated in helping victims of alcohol and drug abuse to completely recover and change their lives for the better. Through its sober living homes, it offers services such, as drug rehabilitation, after alcohol detoxification, support group, therapies, and other learning programs and activities.

"We [at Homes of Promise] believe in an individualized approach in helping plot our guests’ road to recovery. We help define the key interests, hobbies and goals our guests have and develop a schedule that adheres to these positive tasks while holding them accountable to their own growth. We also help to promote interest and acclimation to the abundant 12 Step meetings and community. We encourage our guests to see that sobriety can be fun by attending house and sober events," the organization's head explains.

The unique structure, offerings, and principles of Homes of Promise are aligned with Celebrate Recovery®, a renowned program used by the Saddleback Church for ministry recovery for more than 20 years. It is a Christian 12-step program, guided by eight recovery principles that are based on the Beatitudes in Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount, documented in the book of Matthew.

"We believe our home and our program are truly unique, and that we have a great deal to offer men who are seeking a sober living environment after completing their initial rehabilitation treatment.

“Our guests are treated with kindness and respect, and because they commit to living onsite for one year, they become like family to one another. Moreover, all guests are required to maintain legal, stable employment, or to search for it on a regular basis. We also require our guests to have a sober friend and a sponsor, so that they can be held accountable and have the support they need to maintain sobriety. We promote personal responsibility, while providing a welcoming atmosphere in which to live," he adds.
