King of Prussia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/28/2017 -- On June 23rd, ImageFIRST Healthcare Laundry Specialists Corporate Office joined MANNA in downtown Philadelphia, PA to prepare and provide meals for patients living with serious illnesses.
MANNA is a non-profit organization that delivers over 15,000 meals per week to patients with life-threatening or critical illnesses. Thanks to the nonprofit organization, locals struggling with HIV/AIDS, cancer, renal disease, or another serious illness can eat three nutritious meals a day, seven days a week.
Eleven of the company's associates spent a half-day volunteering at MANNA as part of ImageFIRST's ongoing community giving.
The ImageFIRST director of marketing, Magali Tranié, commented on the event, reflecting that, "As they often do, the associates carpooled and worked together, turning the community giving event into a team building event as well."
Once they arrived, the company's associates rallied together to learn from MANNA's chefs how to make the food for the day. Associates assembled more than 200 sandwiches and chopped approximately 500 pounds of onions and 300 pounds of broccoli for patients' meals.
The ImageFIRST Purpose aims to build a better company by making a positive impact on the company's associates, community, customers and customers' patients. One of the ways in which ImageFIRST puts their Purpose into action is through quarterly community giving events.
With multiple locations throughout the continental United States and Puerto Rico, ImageFIRST supplies patient gowns, hospital scrubs, linens, and more to hundreds of medical facilities and their patients every day.
