Paris, France -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/17/2015 -- Absinthe is a short film in pre-production from Le Groupe featuring Academy Award Nominee Marie-Christine Barrault and 2-time César Nominee Brigitte Fossey. The funding requirement for the completion of this project is $40,000.

Larry Cech and Raul Torres upcoming venture is a short film titled 'Absinthe.'

The start cast for this film includes the likes of Marie-Christine Barrault and Brigitte Fossey. Marie-Christine Barrault is an Academy Award nominee for Best Actress in Cousin, Cousine. She is acclaimed for her work with Woody Allen in Stardust Memories.

Brigitte Fossey, on the other hand, is a 2-time César Award nominee that has worked with famed directors Francois Truffaut and Robert Altman. She has also starred in the Academy Award winning film Cinema Paradiso and has worked with many theatrical luminaries including co-starring with Paul Newman in Quintet.

Absinthe will be directed by Michelle Figlarz whose recent short film 'Sisters' won Best Picture at the 2015 Cannes Short Film Festival.

Larry Cech is an American actor and producer known for his portrayal of Jodi the surfer from the short film Washington Blvd. which screened at the Marche du Film at the 67th Festival de Cannes.

Raul Torres is a Mexican-American actor and producer whose latest film The Dictator won the "Festival Audience Award" at the 2015 Austin Film Festival.

Le Groupe was founded when a small group of actors, producers, directors and composers from around the world met during the Cannes Film Festival in May of 2015 and made a plan to collaborate and create cinematic works of art that would impact the world.

Absinthe is the story of one man's internal struggle to live in the past or to move forward with his life.

"This is the story of a man who has lost his way in life. He makes his way into a bar in the seedy back alleys of Paris and is enticed to drink the forbidden beverage known as Absinthe. It is there that he meets an amazing cast of characters from the past who give him a message that inspire him to move forward with his dreams from long ago."

Cech and Torres have recently launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise $40,000 for the film. This amount will cover the cost of cast and crew along with lighting, sound, special effects and post-production.
