Intercity Technical Training have launched a new training course for Banksmen which can take place anywhere within the UK, and can be tailored to suit any industrial requirements.
Ilford, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/21/2015 -- Banksmen are sometimes known as traffic marshals. They are responsible for the safe direction of traffic around a site. All Banksmen are required to complete a recognised training scheme by the Health and Safety Executive. Such training ensures that companies meet legal requirements and reduces the risk of accidents while vehicles are moving or reversing around a site. It is absolutely crucial training since nearly a quarter of all deaths involving vehicles at work occur while a vehicle is reversing. By undertaking suitable training, employee safety can be guaranteed and it becomes possible to avoid costly claims following accidents.
Intercity Technical Training has created a four-hour, comprehensive course. It teaches all the required manoeuvres including HSE approved Chapter 8 Hand Signals. Each traffic marshal is issued with a copy to retain after the course is complete. Every participant has to pass both a practical assessment and a theory test ensuring they are fully aware of the law and their responsibilities before being granted a certificate of competency. Comprehensive work books are provided which are suitable for learners with a range of abilities and delegates where English is not their first language. The course includes a free annual refresher course. Prices start from £35 per person on a scheduled course.
Groups can be accommodated at Intercity Technical Training's own venue, or at a company's site. For groups of 10 people the cost is £30 per person, while for larger groups of 12 people prices can be negotiated.
Special courses for volunteer marshals providing traffic direction for large events can be provided. These courses are designed for Not for Profit Groups involving unlimited volunteers and can be undertaken at any site or at Intercity Technical's own site.
