Iroquois Carver Launches Kickstarter to Fund New Workspace

Ontario, Canada -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/10/2014 -- Many great craftsman come from aboriginal heritage. William Fisher is one of them. From a mixed heritage of Irish and Mohawk ancestry, William has been carving wood since the age of 15. He has much acclaim for his pieces, some even appearing in galleries and having won awards. Amazing accomplishments for a 27 year old who currently does all his work in a tiny 8x8 shed. Demand for his pieces growing, Rahkaratahkwas as he is known, has ned for a larger workspace and living in Ontario, Canada means working often in cold weather. William has launched a Kickstarter campaign to find investors to help him raise money for a larger workshop with better tools.

About Rahkaratahkwas
Rahkaratahkwas is Iroquois for 'he takes chips out of wood'. Many of William's pieces are influenced by Iroquois history and 'The Great Law of Peace'. He uses the mediums of wood, stone, bone and antler to make his pieces all harvested from the woodlands surrounding his home. His signature piece is specializing in the making of traditional Iroquois flat back bows, however, he also makes quivers and arrowheads, arrows, stone carving sculptures and lacrosse sticks.

For those supporting William's workshop, he is offering perks of his handcrafted native designs and carvings such as hand crafted arrows with authentic feather fletching, wumpum pendant necklaces with wumpum, antler and stone beads, hand carved soapstone animal pieces of bear, eagle or turtle or braided leather necklaces with arrow or carved bone pendants. Very unique and timely gifts for the holiday.

For those who can't support financially at this time, William is hoping they will share the campaign on social media such as Facebook and Twitter to spread the word about his workshop needs more quickly.
