Every custom Makemholler turkey caller is handcrafted with old world construction and instrument quality wood. The artisan’s hand-tune each call to give to the user a realistic raspy hen tone. Makemholler is the only turkey call to offer the Resonator (a floated metal disk in the top) for added rasp and maturity. Every call built has an adjustable top with a steel threaded insert and bolt to allow the user to adjust tone and action to every hunting scenario; nothing else can compare https://twitter.com/makemholler.

Every Tennessee Makemholler turkey call is grown, designed, and built in the very timber we hunt turkey in. Makemholler’s good friends at Winell Lee selectively harvest, kiln dry, and mill all of the wood specifically for your turkey call. Winell runs a beautiful operation right up the road in Baxter, Tennessee, and always gives Makemholler premium quality woods. The Makemholler shop is at the top of a holler in Hartsville, Tennessee. When tuning calls, we often call birds right to the front door of the shop. Makemholler springs are custom made in Kentucky and our hardware comes right out of Nashville, from Fasteners South. Fasteners South has been helping find exactly what hardware is needed.

Turkey hunting is a sport involving the pursuit of the wild turkey. Before the European settlers arrived in North America, Native Americans took part in hunting wild turkeys. Different vocalizations of the Wild Turkey are "gobbles", "clucks", "putts", "purrs", "yelps", "cutts", "cackles" and "kee-kees." To reproduce these different vocalizations there are various types of turkey calls available today and a good hunter learns to use several because it is unpredictable which type of sound a wild turkey will respond to on any given day.
