After universally praised 90th anniversary project, expectations are high for 100th anniversary book that will include portraits and stories of Stuartholme families, Kiss Photography reports
Alderley, QLD -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/01/2015 -- Kiss Photography, one of the area's leading family portrait studios, will partner with the Stuartholme School to produce a limited-edition hardcover book. To be released in 2020 to commemorate the school's centennial, the 100 Year Photo Anthology will include the portraits and stories of any Stuartholme families that wish to be included. The project follows on a similar one titled "Cor Unum — Stuartholme 1920 to 2010" that was released by Kiss Photography and Stuartholme in 2010 to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the school's founding.
"We're excited to announce that we are once again working with the Stuartholme School on a major anniversary project," Kiss Photography founder and Principle Photographer Margherita Gregory said, "For almost a hundred years now, Stuartholme has been providing amazing educational opportunities to young women. We're truly proud to be asked to help commemorate the upcoming 100-year anniversary of this highly regarded institution. With our work now underway, we encourage Stuartholme students and families past, present, and future to schedule appointments to have their portraits taken and tell their stories."
The Roman Catholic Society of the Sacred Heart was founded in France in 1800 by Madeleine Sophie Barat, a native of Joigny who was provided with the kind of wide-ranging classical education that was normally denied, in her day, to women. At the tender age of twenty-one, Barat set out to build the education-focused congregation that now has a presence in forty-one countries around the world, with her efforts eventually resulting in her 1925 canonisation as a saint.
The Stuartholme School of Toowong is one of the enduring legacies of Barat's tireless work and that of the many others who have continued the mission of the Society of the Sacred Heart over the years. Founded in 1920 with an initial enrolment of just five young female boarders, the school now serves a student body comprising about 700 boarding and day students in years 7 through 12.
The School commissioned Kiss Photography to produce a hardbound book titled "Cor Unum," after the institution's motto, to celebrate its ninetieth anniversary in 2010. Released in a limited printing, Cor Unum included the photographs and stories of over 100 Stuartholme students and their families, putting the school's influence on display in especially memorable and personal ways.
The upcoming photo anthology for Stuartholme's 100th anniversary will be even more important and momentous. With Kiss Photography being recognised as one of the Brisbane area's top family portrait studios, Stuartholme school was keen to partner with the company again. Stuartholme students and their families who wish to participate in the project or reserve their own copies can do so at a dedicated page now online at the school's website.
