MotoGen is a unique hybrid power-plant that allows users to charge their drone in flight.
Matawan, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/27/2014 -- Anyone who has ever flown a rotor-copter type drone ends up spending more time watching the battery’s charge than actually flying it. Even investing the money to buy more batteries will give them little more time to enjoy flying their drone. The plain fact is that a drone wears down the charge on a battery much faster than one can charge it from a wall charger. This has been the frustrating, but accepted norm - until now.
Mark Lelong and his team are proud to introduce MotoGen, a hybrid power plant that is ready to rewrite that accepted norm. With MotoGen around, drone operation is no longer limited to the charge of its battery. Just by adding a tiny amount of fuel to the MotoGen’s fuel tank, its battery will be recharged in flight. MotoGen is an easy to install, self-contained unit that mounts to the drone’s frame and plugs easily into its existing battery. However, unlike a hybrid automobile, MotoGen can be adapted to work on one’s currently owned drone as well as any foreseeable new unit to come on the market. The drones will operate the same way it always has, except when the battery's output starts to drop to a low level, the MotoGen system will kick in and be the battery's little helper.
To bring MotoGen to the public, Mark Lelong needs funding support. Their current equipment was great for research and development and they have been able to fund themselves to this point. However, their manufacturing equipment is no longer practical for them to try and produce the MotoGen in a large scale. The team has come to Indiegogo seeking help in securing the equipment and facilities to put MotoGen on the map.
