Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/14/2016 -- When you combine classic rhythms, soul, and funk with world fusions you get the DJ vibe of Oluwafemi. As a well-known performer on the International club scene and a well-respected visual artist, Oluwafemi has created an electric combination that brings high energy excitement to audiences across the US, Africa and Europe. And now, Oluwafemi joins the expanding roster of Philadelphia entertainment booking company, Mole Street Artists.
As a child growing up in Lagos, Nigeria, "Femi" Oluwafemi had a variety of musical influences from Nigerian artists such as Ebenezer Obey, King Sunny Ade and Fela Kuti. When Oluwafemi turned ten, he discovered popular American artists and groups such as Boys 2 Men, Shabba, Biggy Smalls, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, and A Tribe Called Quest. He moved to the U.S. at the age of 17 and went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Temple University with a concentration in visual arts.
Now a well-respected Philadelphia DJ – and member of Worldtown SoundSystem along with Mole Street Artist, Ben Arsenal – Oluwafemi uses visual elements and masterful DJ techniques to light up the stage and leave guests wanting more.
"Oluwafemi brings a vibrant and worldly essence to Mole Street Artists. While many of the artists on our roster reach back in time to the funk, jazz and classical eras, Oluwafemi's influences not only trace back through music history, they also span across the continents, creating a truly global sound," says Sean Timmons, Senior Talent Buyer for Mole Street Artists.
