Multiple is a story about overcoming trauma through therapy, close relationships, and trusting in God
Alpharetta, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/13/2017 -- Nancy Miller has a life that looks normal on the outside, but inside, she is struggling to overcome the traumatic effects of childhood sexual abuse. Her most significant obstacle to overcome is her dissociative identity disorder and the thirteen unique personalities taking up space in her mind.
Nancy Miller was sexually abused when she was four years old. To survive the abuse, she developed new personalities to keep her from losing her mind, which in turn caused mental instability. Multiple explains her background, her abuse, and the psychological harm it did to her mentally and emotionally. Nancy writes that the healing process began when her personalities made themselves known. It wasn't until she met each personality that she could learn about them and begin to cope. Nancy was then able to calm down and realize that she will not be abused again.
"I believe my story needs to be told so people can understand the terrible effect childhood sexual abuse has on its victims. Stronger laws and measures need to be taken to treat this appalling problem in our society," shares Nancy. "My book will be of help to those who think they have the disorder, and to professionals, parents, and caregivers who can learn the symptoms of child abuse in this firsthand account."
Multiple will help readers find peace and accept themselves for who they are, rather than who they wish to be.
Multiple is now available on Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, Apple iTunes and Kobo.
