In their 20's women are spending on average £551 on clothing items per year, whereas men of the same age are spending only £260.
Further studies completed by the money-saving website Voucherbox show that this trend continues for underwear and not just clothing too, with young women spending around £52.50 per year on lingerie and young men splashing out just £20.80 annually on their pants.
