Funds for Recording, Production, and Distribution
New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/12/2014 -- The music industry has completely changed from the days when album chart toppers were chosen strictly by Labels and Radio Disc Jockeys paid to push their stars. Now genres are wide open and stars are made out of top downloaded tracks and artists who are then courted by the Labels. In a world of changing platforms and paradigms, it is up to the artist to seize the day and that is just what the New York Gypsy All Stars hope to do as they come off a successful world tour of their first album 'Romantech' by launching the Indiegogo campaign to raise money for the recording, production, and distribution of their second album.
The group, which formed in New York and formed an instant emotional connection as they performed and improvised familiar Baltic tunes. The group are well trained musicians with degrees from places such as Julliard and Berklee, performed their first big gig at the New York Gypsy Fest.
New York Music Daily reviewed their first album saying, “Romantech was worth the wait...This is your chance to grab it before it ends up on every music blog’s best-of-2012 list."
Their music is a high energy sort of electro, jazz, rock band mixed with a pinch of exotic world music styles and a strong Balkan tradition. Since 2006, they have performed at venues such as the prestigious Carnegie Hall, the Central Park Summer Stage, the Zorlu Center, Yoshi's Jazz Club and performed with special guest artists ranging from Al Di Meola, Ibrahim Maalouf, Husnu Senlendirici to Ivo Papazov, Zulfu Livaneli, and Vassilis Saleas.
There are many great perks in this campaign such as private performances, dinner, recording a favorite song and T-shirts. It will definitely mean joining the sentiments of the Lebanon Daily News who said, "Zooming with Roma-inspired zeal from swinging salsa to pulsing bhangra, the group never loses its sharp musical focus [and] astounding chops."
