Beijing, China -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/27/2018 -- The Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau –VDMA) has its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and represents around 3,200 members, making it the largest industry association in Europe. The Association represents the interests of the predominantly medium-sized companies in the mechanical engineering industry towards policymakers and society, as well as towards business, the scientific community, public authorities and the media. VDMA has business in China for more than a decade. VDMA's representative offices in Beijing and Shanghai provide timely industry information to member companies of machinery equipment in China.
CPMIN: how did you meet VDMA?
Oleg: I used to be an electrical student. After graduation in 1998, I worked in auto parts, printing, ship repair and packaging machinery. During the three and a half years in Shanghai representative office of packaging machinery group, I was responsible for Service in the first two years and Marketing in the third year. Then, in early 2013, I was delighted to hear that the Shanghai representative office of VDMA was about to be hired.
CPMIN: VDMA has offices in Beijing and Shanghai. Are there any overlapping operations?
Oleg: the industry information provided by the two representative offices is sectoral and relatively independent. Beijing representative office was established in 2004 took the lead, the support of industry module is construction and building materials machinery, mining machinery, agricultural machinery, textile machinery, plastics and rubber machinery, power transmission, fluid technology that several modules. Slightly late some, Shanghai representative office was established in 2006, including me in charge of three modules: industrial food processing and packaging machinery and robot + automation, casting machinery, metallurgical machinery, metal heat treatment, (note that the last three modules we are collectively referred to as metallurgy mechanical module), in the Shanghai office to support the industrial module for machine tools and production system, and wood processing machinery.
CPMIN: not long ago, the British and American trade associations withdrew their offices in China. What do you think?
Oleg, also feel very sorry to hear their withdrawal, the founder of the UK is the world's industrial revolution, but today's slowly turned to the financial and service industry, traditional industry compared with Europe's engine, Germany, or have a certain gap. I've been to the UK and I feel like I've been on the decline in traditional industry. The government is now focusing on services and finance. I also know the person in charge of the Shanghai office of American packaging machinery manufacturing association and have participated in their activities.
Would PMMI impression in the packaging machinery manufacturing in China is relatively active, remember at the end of 2011, PMMI near Shanghai cao home cross (PMMI is Shanghai office building next door to the hotel to hold the member enterprise communication forum, invited to, including me, 40, 50 member units, the 2012 annual exhibition calendar made a report, and provide the PMMI member enterprise internal discount promotion. I feel that PMMI is still very influential in China, so I was very surprised to hear that the us office was withdrawn.
CPMIN: what are the attractions of VDMA to Chinese machinery companies?
About Mr.Oleg and VDMA
Mr.Oleg thinks some data services are more attractive. Xi 'an standard industrial sewing machine co., as the first Chinese enterprise to become a member of VDMA. People are quite proud. VDMA registered more than three thousand member companies. There have been eight or nine hundreds of overseas member company has entered China in different forms (for example, set up a representative office, set up limited companies and the partial assembly or production factories in China). In addition to providing industry data on a regular basis, VDMA also organize regular meetings of senior leaders of VDMA member companies to discuss issues of common concern.
