Oscar Nominee Eric Roberts Joins the Love Can Initiative in Support of America's Children

 

Ridgefield, CT -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/14/2014 -- Actor Eric Roberts supports the Love Can Initiative, helping American children living in poverty. One of Hollywood's edgier, more intriguing characters, Mr. Roberts was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in Runaway Train and a three-time Golden Globes nominee for Runaway Train, Star 80 and King of the Gypsies. He also won a Golden Satellite Award for the 2002 season of Less Than Perfect. Mr. Roberts has many television credits including the Emmy-nominated television adaptation of Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood. He started his career on daytime soaps. More recently he appears in the shows Heroes, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Justified and many more. Mr. Roberts' diversity is apparent, appearing in several music videos including The Killers "Mr. Brightside", Mariah Carey’s "We Belong Together" and "It's Like That", Akon and Eminem "Konvicted" to name just a few. Other notable film performances include his roles in Final Analysis, The Pope of Greenwich Village, Raggedy Man, Babyfever, Heaven’s Prisoners, The Specialist, The Grave and Christopher Nolan ’s Batman – The Dark Knight. He has 67 movies currently in production. His daughter Emma Roberts, is a newly popular and fast-rising actress.

The Love Can Initiative is a non-profit organization that unites people to spread love throughout the United States for children in need. The Love Can Initiative was founded on the principle that no child should have to suffer from lack of anything. Influential people are asked to help build awareness and to be a part of the solution that no child should be left uncared for, untreated from treatable illnesses or lack of nutrition, a warm bed or education that can improve the quality of life around them.
