Personal Chefs to Be Featured at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Birdies, BBQ and U Event in Orlando

Chefs from the Orlando area, who are members of the United States Personal Chef Association, will cook BBQ meals for attendees.

 

Orlando, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/12/2014 -- The Arnold Palmer Invitational is introducing a new event this year, Birdies, BBQ and U, which celebrates college sports with a gourmet tailgate party on the 9th fairway of the Bay Hill Golf Club. Attendees of the event will enjoy world-class golf, as well as delicious meals from personal chef members of the United States Personal Chef Association (USPCA), who are joining with some of the area’s top barbeque restaurants.

“We are thrilled to provide food for this signature event,” says USPCA President Larry Lynch, “and proud that personal chefs are being recognized alongside some big names in the restaurant business.” Besides the personal chefs from the United States Personal Chef Association, food will be provided by restaurants Bubbalou’s Bodacious BBQ, Cecil’s Texas Style BBQ, Tony Roma’s, and Miller’s Field.

Personal chefs cook, package, and store meals in a client’s home and customize parties, cooking classes, special events, and more. While a typical personal chef will cook about 20 meals to last a client the entire week, the four USPCA chefs participating in the Birdies, BBQ, and U event will be preparing over 600 servings.

Personal chef Kevin Marshall, owner of A Pampered Plate is excited to cook for this large a group. “With the menu we are going to serve,” he says, “they won’t forget about us, because we are going to make it a hole-in-one.”

Alumni clubs from all around the country will be represented at this event, including Rutgers Club of Central Florida, Florida A&M University, Mississippi State - Greater Orlando, Michigan State Univ. Alumni Club of Central Florida, University of Miami Alumni Club, LSU Alumni of Central Florida, Bethune Cookman College, University of Alabama, University of Florida, The Ohio State University, Penn State University, Notre Dame Club of Greater Orlando, and University of Central Florida.

Birdies, BBQ and U takes place from 1:00-4:00 pm on Saturday, March 22nd, during the Arnold Palmer Invitational, televised on NBC.
