Hobbs, NM -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/17/2014 -- Debra Hicks, PE/LSI, Chief Executive Officer of Pettigrew & Associates, P.A., recently announced the addition of two employees - Misganaw Wole, GIS Technician; and Sakaria Hashi, Engineering Technician II.

Misganaw Wole was recently hired as the firm's GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Technician responsible for collecting and assembling data to integrate into the GIS database, maintaining maps, and digitizing new subdivisions, infrastructure, etc. Mr. Wole was born and raised in Nazareth, Ethiopia and comes to Pettigrew & Associates most recently from Denver, Colorado. He has a Master of Science in Geoinformatics from the University of Twente, Netherlands, a Bachelor’s in Surveying Technology from Adama University in Ethiopia and an Associate Degree in Surveying Technology from Nazareth Technical. Misganaw is joined in Hobbs by his wife and one-year old son.

Sakaria Hashi recently joined the Pettigrew team as an Engineering Technician II, currently working in the Pettigrew materials testing laboratory. Mr. Hashi was born in Somalia and moved to Kenya at a young age, where he lived until moving to the United States in 2004. He received his Associates Degree from Saint Paul Community College in Saint Paul, Minnesota and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. He is currently pursuing his professional engineering licensure. "The growth and development of the area and the great New Mexico weather are a couple of reasons for my move," Sakaria said.
