Tetra-n-butyl titanate is an organic compound that falls under the category of organic titanates. Tetra-n-butyl titanate is also known as titanium butoxide, butyl titanate, tetra butyl orthotitanate and tetrabutoxy titanium. It is a pale yellow colored liquid that has an alcoholic odor. The density of tetra-n-butyl titanate is almost equal to that of water and it is soluble in most organic solvents except ketones.

Tetra-n-butyl titanate is commercially produced by the reaction of titanium tetrachloride & butanol. It is a corrosive and flammable liquid, which is highly sensitive towards moisture. Tetra-n-butyl titanate reacts vigorously with sulfuric acid, nitric acid and oxidizing materials along with hydroxides & peroxides.
