Is It Possible to Transfer China’s Glyphosate Technical Capacity

Some people remark whether there is an industrial transfer globally, which could help release China's overcapacity and improvement of world's glyphosate price.

Guangzhou, Guangdong -- (SBWire) -- 11/01/2011 --Glyphosate is one of the most commonly used herbicides in the market today. As the largest production base of glyphosate, China experienced irrational expansion in 2007 and 2008, but the whole glyphosate industry has been undergoing depressed glyphosate market since late 2008.

Some people remark whether there is an industrial transfer globally, which could help release China's overcapacity and improvement of world's glyphosate price. CCM International has done research on the possibility of glyphosate technical's capacity transfer.

All findings are recorded in the report of Global Commercial Opportunities Derived from Glyphosate Industry. Some results are:

1) It is impossible (or little possibility) to launch new glyphosate technical production line by using original starting material DEA (or glycine, IDAN) in overseas countries in the future 5~10 years. In other words, it's inadvisable to invest such glyphosate technical production lines.

2) It is possible to launch glyphosate production line by using PMIDA as the starting raw material in the future 5~10 years, but the possibility is relatively low.

3) There is low possibility of China's industrial transfer from Southeast China to Western China.

This report also focuses on the following aspects:

-Analysis of supply and demand of glyphosate technical, 2006-2020;

-Introduction and comparison of different production routes of glyphosate;

-Projection of glyphosate supply by route, 2011-2020;

-Projection of possible transfer of glyphosate production in the world in the future;

-Introduction of supply & demand and consumption of glycine, IDAN, DEA, ethylene oxide, paraformaldehyde, yellow phosphorus, phosphorus trichloride, dimethyl phosphite, chlor-alkali, and methanol, 2006/2008-2010, 2011-2020;

-Analysis of upstream opportunities derived from global glyphosate development.
