Polysilicon Output in China Might Begin to Soar in 2015
Guangzhou, Guangdong -- (SBWire) -- 11/03/2011 --It is certain that the prospect of polysilicon industry in China is bright, although it is still in the rising stage now, according to CCM’s 2nd edition report of China's Polysilicon Market in Solar Photovoltaic Industry published this August.
The report also points out that the year of 2015 is expected to be a turning point for PV industry, when gird parity of solar energy may really arrive and new economy balance may be retrieved, resulting in new round of prosperity of polysilicon industry. Consequently, polysilicon output in China may begin to soar in 2015.
The production capacity of polysilicon as of June 2011 is about 120,000t/a, with 310,000t/a planning capacity in 2013. The enthusiasm for production expansion keeps high in the next few years.
The output of polysilicon in China in 2010 is 47,971 tonnes, which may rise to 100,000 tonnes in 2013. The self-sufficiency rate of polysilicon consumption in China may climb to 70% in 2013 from 50% in 2010.
PV industry and polysilicon production are still at a rising stage but a promising future lies ahead. It is still relatively easy for new entrants to seize the market opportunity by using proper competition strategy, and the main threat comes from the risk of excessive capacity.
