Norristown, PA -- (SBWire) -- 04/24/2019 --For the seventh consecutive year, Elmwood Park Zoo will be hosting its annual "Party for the Planet" event on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission to "Party for the Planet" is included in the price of regular zoo admission.

Party for the Planet is North America's largest combined Earth Day celebration and is organized by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. At least 30 vendors will be participating, and several other organizations and businesses will be providing additional support, meaning that there will be plenty to see, do, and learn.

One highlight will be the "Earth Expo," where vendors will be showcasing their eco-friendly offerings.

Another activity not to be missed is the Worm Composting Workshop presented by Elmwood Park Zoo's Education Department. Here, visitors can learn all about methods of vermicomposting (that's a fancy name for worm composting), and how those efforts can make a difference in protecting the environment while helping a garden flourish. The hour-long workshop will take place in the Discovery Center Classroom and will begin at 11 a.m. Admission to Elmwood Park Zoo is required, and a $5 donation covers the cost of supplies.

And for those who want to have an animal-themed birthday party in the King of Prussia area, Elmwood Park Zoo hosts them all year long. A birthday party at the zoo is a thrill for kids of all ages in the Delaware County and Montgomery County areas.
