Florida Driver Licenses Receive Security Upgrades
Anyone renewing their Florida license or applying for a new one may notice some design changes. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles recently tweaked the design of Florida licenses with the intention of improving its security features.
Miami, FL -- (SBWire) -- 06/26/2019 --Some of the new security changes being implemented in the new licenses include a tactile security feature located on the front of the license. The magnetic strip typically seen on the back of the card is no longer there.
In regards to the new license security changes, the tweaks do not require existing drivers to obtain one of the newly modified licenses. The older cards will be gradually phased out and drivers will receive one of the newer licenses with the improved security once it's time to renew the license.
