Clinton, MO -- (SBWire) -- 07/24/2019 --The Ransomville driver set fast time in the pre-race trials, won his qualifying heat race, and then made a late pass for the lead and went home with the $7,500 first-place money.
The Rudolph name is a familiar one around local tracks: The winner's father and grandfather each competed in Central New York for many years.

The Quebec triumph was the 12th of the 2019 campaign for Rudolph and second on the rugged DIRTcar big-block tour.

Baldwinsville's Jimmy Phelps was at the head of the pack at the start of the main event. Stewart Friesen took over on lap 34, and he battled with Rudolph for the next 50 laps.

Rudolph slid under Friesen for the top spot with 18 laps left, but Matt Sheppard put on a strong closing rush that had the DIRT point leader in second place.

Forty-one DIRT big-blocks were on hand at the quarter-mile Drummond oval. Tuesday night the DIRT Tour moves to the nearby Autodrome Granby to complete their two-race Quebec swing. Another 100-lap feature race paying $7,500 to win is set for Granby.
