Making the Decision to Rent or Sell
Fort Lauderdale, FL -- (SBWire) -- 08/16/2019 --When it comes investment properties, investors will typically need to evaluate a pair of options: rent or sell. Selling is largely viewed as a short term solution while renting is considered long term. As with anything else, there are pros and cons to each option, one of which may make more sense than the other.
Investing in a market with low supply suggests selling is a wiser option. It's worth evaluating what the property can offer once it has undergone renovation. An investor should examine comps to get accurate numbers on how fix and flips are doing. An investor may also want to look into a short term investment doesn't want to deal with the associated responsibilities such as having to perform maintenance.
If residual income is an appealing option, long term is a wise option. If the investor is certain the property will gain further appreciation, renting will provide useful income. If and when it is time to sell, the property value should have seen considerable gains.
