Miami, FL -- (SBWire) -- 03/18/2013 --Number 5 player Rafa Nadal has pulled out of the Sony Open Tennis tournament. The left-hander from Spain just resumed his playing last month after several months out with a knee injury.
"We are disappointed to hear the news that Rafael Nadal will not be competing in Miami this year, especially given his strong results since his return to the Tour," Sony Open tournament director Adam Barrett said in a statement. The tennis star did not state a reason for missing the tournament.
