Florence, Tuscany -- (SBWire) -- 02/04/2010 -- NABA Summer Session 2010 provides students with a unique opportunity to explore the world capital of design and creativity and to spend two or four weeks in a stimulating and international environment making the most of the professional experience of NABA teaching staff, as well as of selected visits to museums, companies, production sites and design studios in and outside Milan.
For the 7th edition, NABA has enriched its Summer Educational Offer with brand new courses that will offer an incomparable opportunity of intensive study, practical experience and creative cultural exchange with students and professionals coming from all over the world.
In the course “A focus on … Brand Consulting” (http://www.design-summer-courses.com/brand-consulting.html) (from July 5th to July 16th), students will learn how Brand Consulting plays a major role in the fashion industry. Students enrolled in this course will learn the difference between Fashion Marketing and Brand Consulting in the realm of fashion, review the companies that are showing signs of successful branding, and breakdown the reasons why they continue to grow.
This course finds its natural completion in the program “A Focus on … Retail Management” - http://www.design-summer-courses.com/retail-management.html - (from July 20th to July 30th). With more and more retail outlets (via physical shops or e-shops) opening everyday, there has never been more of a demand for Retail Managers. This course will first and foremost discuss the importance of a Retail Manager as a Brand Ambassador as well as the importance of communication and psychology within the retail environment.
Otherwise, if you are interested in social and environmental sustainability in the fashion industry you might consider applying to the course “A Focus on … Ethical Fashion” - http://www.design-summer-courses.com/ethical-fashion.html - (from July 20th to July 30th). This course will explore the ethical fashion scenario analyzing the three most important topical areas: sustainability, ecology and recycling.
The course “A Focus on … Hacking Expression” - http://www.design-summer-courses.com/hacking-expression.html - (from July 20th to July 30th) will focus on the opportunities of existing gadgets and the technologies surrounding us; how can we use these gadgets as ingredients for new ideas? The course aims to provide students to go through an entire interaction design process from the brief, to defining the design and technical specification, to finally complete an actual working prototype of an interactive object.
If you have a passion for interactive media application, you might find a 4-week full immersion in “Interactive Media Design” (“Introduction to Interactive Media Design” from July 5th to July 16th and “Interactive Media Design Studio” from July 20th to July 30th) a suitable choice. This course introduces students to Touch Designer, a user friendly, graphic node based program that enables the integration of complex 3d and compositing along with audio analysis and manipulation for the creation of installations and live ‘mixable’ content across multiple screens.
These courses have an intense practical/workshop component that will enable students to participate in an event performing live visuals to music. A further possibility will be projecting live graphics on architecture.
