San Diego, CA -- (SBWire) -- 11/19/2013 --As a youngster, James DePelma (Rainbow Bridge Group CEO) often used to bring stray dogs home, only to have his mother say he could not keep them. So off the dogs went to the pound, where James knew the fate of most of these loving creatures was not good. James also remembers seeing many more stray dogs, helpless and homeless and not being able to do anything to help them. There came a point in time where James knew he never again wanted to experience these feelings, he never again wanted to shed a tear over a dog being taken to the shelter. He wanted to help every dog he could. Thus James’ vision to help these wonderful creatures grew into an all consuming passion. The Rainbow Bridge Group is that passion come to life.

Rainbow Bridge is a planned 37 acres in Vista CA. This is not a dog rescue, but a dog sanctuary, something James envisions as being straight out of a fairy tale. The grounds will be so picturesque, so scenic, and beautiful. Rainbow Bridge will have everything that a dog would ever need; lots of green grass, shade, room to roam and play, a veterinary clinic to keep them happy and healthy. A pet cemetery will also be on the grounds. There will be lakes and streams, lots of trees and flowers everywhere, but most of all the dogs will have freedom and lots of love from like minded people.

The goal of this project is to give every homeless and unwanted dog of San Diego County a place to call home, a place of their own without kennels or cages. Just the love and adoration that they so richly deserve and freely give.

The funding goal of this campaign has been fixed at $1,562,400. The donations will pay for the 37 acres, the buildings and offices to be built, and all of the landscaping. All funds raised for this campaign will go directly to Rainbow Bridge and even if it does not reach its initial goal, which the Rainbow Bridge Group does not even want to think about not being met, will help offset expenses. The Rainbow Bridge Group knows enough people must believe in this vision to help make it come true. The animals deserve this and all donors will know that there were a part of something real and made a difference in the world. Funding duration: October 24, 2013 - December 23, 2013 (11:59pm PT).
