This new technology can feed, score, affix, personalize, apply cards, emboss Braille, fold and glue and finally, digitally inspect quality of finished products. It is also capable of handling stock types varying from light offset to 26 point board at speeds up to 70,000 products per hour.
Both Bernhardt and Pack-Smart are focused on providing modular systems for nearly two decades. It is the first time both companies teamed up to take print finishing to the next level.
"By employing high efficiently servo technologies combined together with decades of experience in print finishing, our products offer unmatched value proposition to both new and existing customers, at the same time to take print finishing to a new dimension," says Marketing Director Daniel Bernhardt.
Pack-Smart's emphasis is on technology that provides cost-effective and energy efficient solutions to direct mail, finishing and fulfillment media packaging industries.
"Our systems are known for their outstanding ROI and unmatched performance in personal care, media and secured printing markets. When equipped with features such us regenerative power bus and low inertia drive train, energy consummation is also reduced dramatically, and placement accuracy is drastically improved," says Peter Dlugosz, Technology Manager at Pack-Smart.
Most finishing shops today rely on several different suppliers providing those specialty functionalities in order to complete one job. This often leads to unpredictable results in throughput, waste, quality, and of course profitability, according to Dlugosh-Ostap, president of Pack-Smart.
"There is a common goal, to provide our customers with integrated platforms, allowing them to gear up for new expected and unexpected opportunities. A great example of that is the capacity folding module, developed by Bernhardt and presented here at the show, equipped with a high speed tipping system. This package delivers speed and accuracy at twice the industry norm," Pack-Smart Inc. President Derek Dlugosh-Ostap explains. "Our clients can choose from standard four widths 500mm to 15000mm. They can purchase a basic system and let their specialty department grow. Whenever a new application is presented to them, they simply add another module, and plug it in to the high speed governing control network."
