Werewolf Podcast HowlOutCast Interviews Author Tracy Falbe
The creator of a new werewolf hero in control of his animal power spoke about her new book Werelord Thal: A Renaissance Werewolf Tale in a podcast interview. The author chatted about werewolf folklore and history with Kaijudo host of the HowlOutCast.
Battle Creek, MI -- (SBWire) -- 01/30/2014 --Tracy Falbe started her Werewolves in the Renaissance blog tour early on January 29th. The fantasy author was a guest on the HowlOutCast, a podcast dedicated to all things werewolf.
In episode 70 of the podcast available at Stitcher and Talk Shoe, the author of the new paranormal fantasy Werelord Thal: A Renaissance Werewolf Tale spoke at length with the host Kaijudo about the folkloric elements she blended to create the werewolf hero Thal.
When the host asked Falbe what a werelord was, she explained that he was a werewolf with powers superior to other werewolves.
“Thal was created by sorcery instead of a werewolf’s bite, and this magic gave him total control of his werewolf powers. He controls his shifting with a magic wolf fur and the incantation of a spell. This gives him a significant advantage over the other werewolf in the story,” Falbe said.
“I call Thal a good guy. He defends his friends and only kills those who deserve it,” Falbe said. The plot of Werelord Thal is driven by his quest to punish the men who killed his witch mother.
Set in Bohemia in 1561, the novel is inspired by the political and religious upheaval of the Renaissance, especially the witch hunting. Falbe had long been fascinated and disturbed by the witch hunts that were prevalent during the Renaissance. Victims were also sometimes accused of being werewolves and shapeshifters. She chose this turbulent time for the setting of Werelord Thal because the historical transformations of that era mirrored the werewolf’s transformation.
Falbe will continue to share from her history research for the book at ten more blogs during her Werewolves in the Renaissance blog tour. Scheduled from February 11th to March 21st the blog tour includes a four-chapter preview from Werelord Thal: A Renaissance Werewolf Tale at every stop.
Additionally coupons to save on the ebook or paperback of Werelord Thal are now at the HowlOutCast blog.
