Senoia, GA -- (SBWire) -- 02/05/2014 --David Jayne lives with his wife Carey and five of our six children in Senoia, Georgia. At 26, an Emory University neurologist diagnosed him with ALS commonly called Lou Gehrig’s disease. In the same week as the diagnosis, his dream of being a father had come true. The disease progressed as the neurologist forewarned. At present, David cannot move, speak, breathe or eat without the assistance of technology. 

When David decided to prolong his life by going on a ventilator, that was a decision his first wife did not support and she divorced David. Several years ago the improbable happened and an extraordinary woman fell in love with David in this physical condition. Carey and David got married later. The doctors said David would not live beyond his twenties. He will turn 53 in April. While David is tremendously grateful to be alive living with a severe disability, these 26 years have also been financially devastating. The purpose of this campaign is to payoff tens of thousands in medical bills.

The fundraising goal is $100,000. This will eliminate all medical debt and enable David and Carey to prepare for their next challenge. Their youngest child battles cystic fibrosis and will need a lung transplant. With a successful fundraiser, the couple’s credit will begin to improve so they will be considered for their son’s life saving operation.
