Nicholas Willliams Looks to Raise Funds via Kickstarter to Get Whetherman to Europe
Whetherman has been invited to perform the "Songs and Whispers" circuit in Germany and Denmark, and they need funding support to get there.
Jacksonville, FL -- (SBWire) -- 02/14/2014 --Whetherman is an independent folk music project that Nicholas Williams started in 2007 as a solo artist. Since then, with a grassroots effort, it's grown through five studio albums and three nationwide tours without management, producers or booking agents. The most recent release, 'Streams and Pastures' (2013) has propelled the project into new elements of Americana, and has introduced additional members.
The album recently allowed Whetherman to be placed on Pandora Radio, named in Relix Magazine as an Artist on the Rise, as well as an invitation to tour in Europe for a month this coming summer. For this occasion and many to follow, Whetherman will be traveling as a trio with vocalist Rachel Murray and percussionist JP Salvat joining Nicholas Williams on the journey.
Aside from performing, the group’s task is to get across the pond. This is why they need support. Pulling together the funds for plane tickets, traveling costs while in Europe, on top of all the merchandise needed out of pocket is not something they can do on their own. A majority of these shows are also not financial guarantees. However, this is a welcoming opportunity that would grant them more connections and eventual tours overseas, and extend their listener base drastically.
This project will only be funded if at least $13,500 is pledged by Wed, Mar 12 2014 7:12 PM +05:30.
