Membership with the United States Personal Chef Association Comes with Liability Insurance
Personal chefs no longer need to struggle to find the right insurance coverage.
Orlando, FL -- (SBWire) -- 03/03/2014 --Insurance is extremely important to have when running a business, however, insurance categories offer very little options for Personal Chefs. Often times, coverage through local insurance agents will categorize a Personal Chef as a catering operation or a general business liability, which can become expensive because the insurance covers items Personal Chefs do not necessarily use or need coverage for. For this reason, the United States Personal Chef Association (USPCA) has created a unique program that allows all active USPCA members to participate and receive basic liability insurance coverage.
This program, also known as the USPCA Independent Personal Chef Insurance Program, is a benefit available to all active USPCA members with no additional costs as this insurance benefit is included with membership in the association. The liability insurance policy issued to the organization allows USPCA to extend coverage to members in good standing and provides a variety of coverage.
This coverage applies to when a Personal Chef is conducting his or her service in a client’s home and accidental damage or injury occurs as a direct result of the Personal Chef. Coverage also applies to the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, making it perfect for Personal Chefs that may travel. All policy limits, sub limits, terms, and conditions apply.
“As careful as you are when you are cooking,” says USPCA President Larry Lynch, “accidents can happen. Our member chefs can cook with confidence while in a client’s home, knowing they have coverage if something should happen. And anyone who hires a member of the USPCA can do so with confidence, knowing the chef is fully insured for property damage and bodily injury.”
The policy also covers some instances that may occur during a routine visit to a client’s home, providing services in a client’s home, teaching a cooking class in a client’s home, and even store demonstrations.
Membership in USPCA not only gives members useful coverage that allows them to focus more on their job performance as a Personal Chef and less focused on liability.
Members of the USPCA don’t just benefit from general liability insurance. In this age of the Affordable Care Act, the association has a solution to the exchanges. Members have access to multiple carriers with no medical questions asked and all pre-existing conditions covered. Members of the USPCA also receive a variety of other benefits such as continuing education, discounts on kitchen and business products, and annual conferences.
