Essex, UK -- (SBWire) -- 03/12/2014 --With the deadline for entries being pushed back to the 7th March, the team at FSE are encouraging local businesses to get involved in this brand new initiative and enter the Essex Digital Awards.

It has been announced in recent days that those behind the Essex Digital Awards have agreed to extend the closing date for entries from 26th February to Friday 7th March thanks to new backing from a prominent local newspaper group.

The Essex Chronicle Media Group have joined Associate Sponsors Freelance SEO Essex in supporting the Essex Digital Awards. Organisers have decided to push the deadline back for entries to give Essex Chronicle readers a chance to enter, and according to a quote on the paper’s official website, felt that due to the Awards being in their first year, “it’s right to allow everyone a fair chance to discover the EDAs”.

The Essex Digital Awards offers local businesses the chance to pick up gold, silver and bronze awards for ten different categories, including Best Small Business Website, Best Mobile App, Best Online Marketing Campaign and more. The Awards gives local businesses a fantastic opportunity to be recognised and appreciated for their presence, performance and achievements online.

The Essex Chronicle Media Group’s senior editor Nev Wilson described the Essex Digital Awards as a “perfect fit” for the Chronicle in its 250th year. He goes on to explain how he believes that joining FSE in their support for the Essex Digital Awards “chimes perfectly with where we are now” and believes that the EDAs are “a fantastic scheme which supports the great work that people for our county are doing on the internet”.

Iain Johnson, who is one of the organisers behind the Awards, expressed his excitement for “working with a media group of this stature”.

Prior to The Essex Chronicle’s decision to lend their support to the EDAs, Freelance SEO Essex jumped at the chance to back the idea. Danielle Haley, a director at FSE, has previously revealed that she and her co-director were keen to get involved in the initiative as soon as they heard about it. “We were excited by the concept of the awards, and keen to raise awareness of the amount of online talent we have in the county,” she said.

It is free to enter the Essex Digital Awards and the online application only takes two minutes. The deadline for new entries has now been moved to allow more schools, charities and businesses the opportunity to enter the first award scheme of its kind in the county. The organisers have also confirmed that the deadline for 2014 will not be moved again, so those interested in applying must get their entries in before 11.59pm on the 7th March.
