Jan Sikes Seeks Funding Support via Kickstarter for the Convict and the Rose Book & Forty Foot High CD
A journey through words and music of a man's trials and triumph deep inside prison walls and the woman left behind who holds his heart.
Allen, TX -- (SBWire) -- 03/18/2014 --Jan Sikes started writing songs and poems at the age of eight . She has written short stories, screen play, songs and poems and now full length novels. She tells true stories in a creative and entertaining way.
The Convict And The Rose is a true story of a man convicted of a crime he didn't commit and a woman who never stopped loving him.
Forty Foot High is a compilation of some of the music that was recorded inside the walls of Leavenworth. All except for the title song. Jan found the lyrics to Forty Foot High while doing research for the book and they really tugged at her heart. She’d never heard Rick Sikes sing the song and it wasn't recorded anywhere.
The book and CD together preserve a bit of history that might otherwise remain unknown. At this point, the recording and mastering of the CD is already completed and ready to go to press.
This project will only be funded if at least$2,500 is pledged by Thu, Apr 10 2014 6:36 AM +05:30.
