Dirty Feet Ministries Release Simple, to-the-Point Christian Leadership Books
Intended to provide an effective aid to students studying the Word of God, three new books released by Dirty Feet Ministries Inc. are offering an alternative to lengthier tomes.
Columbia, SC -- (SBWire) -- 03/19/2014 --Over Cary Holbert’s many years of studying the Word of God, he’s found that most of the books – while rich with information and wonderful for learning – are often quite long and technical. In Holbert’s experience, these books end up languishing on shelves, unread.
With the release of three new books from Dirty Feet Ministries, Holbert hopes to provide a viable option to the aforementioned books, and help students with their education.
“Our works are intended to be Word-of-God centered, thorough, yet to the point,” says Holbert. “They are brief, which many students appreciate. We do caution people that nothing can take the place of a rich examination of the Word of God, and these books are not meant to replace personal study.”
The books, entitled ‘The Elder’, ‘The Elder in Action’ and ‘The Deacon’, are all available for purchase on the Dirty Feet Ministries Inc. website. The books scrutinize the purpose, origin and provide guidance for those who wish to discern God’s calling in their lives. They are intended for Elder and Deacon training, both for those already in the office, or those considering the call to be an Elder or Deacon.
As Holbert explains, the call to be an Elder is a vital one.
“The call to be an elder is neither a call to mediocrity nor taking a title of honor while sending others on ahead,” says the author. “The call is to model Christ, who voluntarily laid down his life for us. (1 John 3:16) In his last visit with the Ephesian elders, Paul said, "And now beware! Be sure that you feed and shepherd God's flock—his church, purchased with his blood—over whom the Holy Spirit has appointed you as elders. I know full well that false teachers, like vicious wolves, will come in among you after I leave, not sparing the flock. Watch out! Remember the three years I was with you—my constant watch and care over you night and day, and my many tears for you." (Acts 20:28, 29, 31) The call on the elder's life is a call to warfare and, as such, you're on the front lines as a watchman, called to put yourself between the enemy and the people of God.”
Continuing: “The Deacon's work is manifestation of the reality of Christ in deed caring for the physical and social needs of needy.”
The three books are suited perfectly for church libraries, enabling any visitors to learn more about the offices that Christ himself instituted to care for His flock.
