The objective behind this campaign is the creation of a global art & creative exchange that allows artists to trade works with other artists.

Farmington, MN -- (SBWire) -- 08/27/2014 --The idea behind Creative Art Exchange is to create a centralized location (or community) for artists to place their work online, view other artist’s work, and to have the opportunity to talk to other artists about exchanging a work of art for another. This would give the artists the opportunity to exchange works of art of their chosen media with one that the artist wishes to receive if an exchange is agreed upon between artists. An artist would be able to post a number of original works, a series of original works, details about the artwork, photos or videos detailing the artwork, and other important information that would lead to a beginning database of provenance for each work of art that is traded.

When an artist visits a home page with a particular piece of artwork by another artist they would be interested in trading with, they could send a “interested in trade” request that lets the other artist know somebody is interested in an exchange. The artist receiving the request will go to a small database containing the requesting artist’s artworks they are willing to trade. The next step for the artist with a trade request, is to look through the artwork of the interested artist to see if there is any work that they feel is worthy of a trade.

This project/idea is meant to connect artists on a global scale and give all artists (anyone who creates a physical piece), an outlet beyond the gallery as well as becoming active collectors and traders of work that they otherwise may never have had access to. Establishing a community of creators and contributors to the art world may revolutionize the way artists connect the world, establish a sense of investment within their field, and give everyone who signs up a new outlet for their creativity. The value of the art remains solely with the artists and will never be established by the exchange. The power would remain in the bargaining among artists, there may be a small fee for the operation costs per exchange, per artist.

The funding that is being requested will in turn go into the development of a working site that can support such a community and its functions, BMP (Brand, Market and Promote) the exchange, and establish a business foundation that will maintain the exchange, improve its functionality, and advance new opportunities for artists to contribute to the humanities for the cause of humanities.

The funding budget for the campaign is $250,000.
