Be Part of the Green Plus Revolution One Child One Wish
Green Plus Revolution has launched an indiegogo campaign to fund an educational project for street children in Kenya. The project seeks to raise funds for education, recovery and rehabilitation of youngsters seeking a better life.
Nairobi, Kenya -- (SBWire) -- 09/03/2014 --Green Plus Revolution (GREEN+) and Jonathan Njoroge, CEO/Founder and co-founder Billy Mwangi are pleased to announce the launch of a environmental organization which is intended to assist youngsters in leaving the streets and gaining an education. The organization is part of Green Plus Kenya designed to improve awareness, capacity and advocacy through networking and information sharing on environmental issues while providing environmental-oriented services. The funds in the Indiegogo campaign will be sustained by recycling dump-site materials and producing organic fertilizer.
According to Billy Mwangi, co-founder of the group, “My campaign is to take street children to school as they have the dream and the hope. They just need someone to make it a dream come true. This is very important to me and the world as a whole as part of the millennium goal which is to eradicate poverty and have universal primary education level. A contribution to get this project started will be of great help to take a child to school and he/she will be able to make a future for himself.”
He continues, “Every day I ask myself, 'what I have done for humanity?' Also, I am giving you a challenge to ask yourself what you have done to better the situation. These children are the future of tomorrow; we need to be there for them because without them there is no future. For sure, no child should be forced to live under such inhumane conditions. Much has been said and done but still there is a big gap to be filled.”
The goal for this campaign is $50,000. The first $10,000 will go to purchase the land. $20,000 is earmarked for construction. The remainder will go to purchase school uniforms, clothing and to pay school fees. Children who have become addicted to street drugs will be taken to rehabilitation centers for help with recovery. This campaign started on Aug 12 and will close on October 11, 2014.
