The Remodeling Futures Program recently released the Leading Indicator of Remodeling Activity (LIRA) which projects home improvement activity to peak during the second half of the year before easing a bit in 2015. The LIRA projects that home improvement spending in the United States will be at 9.9 per cent this year. It also expects that this number would dip to around 7 per cent in the first quarter of 2015.

The U.S. Census Bureau reported that the home improvement market increased by 5.6 per cent last year.
