Jeremy Nelson Seeks Crowdfunding to Experiment with 3D TV Without Glasses
Can 3D TV Be Achieved with Curved Micro-Mirrors Instead of Glasses?
Matawan, NJ -- (SBWire) -- 10/16/2014 --Jeremy Nelson has been an IT professional for years while 3D TV technology has been his passion. After several home-built 3D TV models he had a breakthrough idea; Can 3D TVs be mass produced in such a way as to give viewers the full 3D experience but without the goofy glasses so common in this type of technology?
His goal is to determine whether a new technique for viewing large screen 3D without glasses can be mass produced with no sacrifice of image quality. The core concept behind this is an array of curved micro-mirrors requiring high accuracy to work and collectively deliver 3D TV – without the glasses.
This project will require the use of very precise CNC machines, polishing, a high ppi monochrome LCD, and a projector capable of interacting with it. The goal of this prototype is to be able to demonstrate glasses-free 3D to investors or press by literally showing them a small, fully functional sample as proof of concept.
Having the insights and the ideas but not the money to fund his latest experiment, he has turned to crowdfunding seeking $7,100 to complete this experiment. Should Jeremy exceed his funding goal he will devote all additional dollars to expanding the scope of research to include larger models with different configurations.
This crowdfunding campaign ends on November 6, 2014.
