High Joy Health Announces New Program for Depression
Lexington, SC -- (SBWire) -- 02/16/2015 --High Joy Health Magazine announces their partnership with Uncommon Knowledge in promoting a new comprehensive program for treating mild to moderate depression.
Depression is a growing epidemic and Christy Evans, editor of High Joy Health Magazine, is on the front lines. Her mission is to save the millions of people who suffer from every day garden variety depression without resorting to prescriptions.
Ms. Evans is quick to agree that medications have their place, particularly for severe depression when self-harm or the intention to harm others is an issue. But for the millions of people who struggle with mild to moderate depression, Evans thinks there's a better way.
"Depression is nothing more than unresolved grief," says Evans. "People need to feel safe in order to process that grief."
This new program, The Natural Depression Treatment Program, is a synergistic blend of cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy and interpersonal therapy combined with deep relaxation.
"People reinvent their depression each day," says Evans. "This program breaks the cycle."
Evans goes on to say that the program does not replace the help of a qualified mental health professional and having a pro on your side can make a world of difference. However, if a person is receiving psychotherapy, The Natural Depression Treatment Program will make that therapy more effective.
"There are a lot of sad, lonely and wounded people in the world," says Evans. "They don't know it, but a joyful life is at their fingertips. I want to help them realize that new life. I want people to know, it's okay to slow down. It's okay to say 'no.' It's okay to take care of yourself first."
