The survey interviewed around 1,000 people, with 28% of those revealing that they had invited their children back into their home in some capacity. Other results from the report included the admission that 26% of parents had assisted their child in putting down a deposit for their home, whilst 21% contributed to other costs that came with moving house.

The news comes despite the attempts of banks and mortgage lenders to make the property market more accessible for young people with the likes of lowered deposit amounts. It also implies that young people are still not feeling secure enough to purchase their own home.
