Chandelier Crash in Taj Mahal Under Investigation

London, England -- (SBWire) -- 09/15/2015 --A chandelier hanging in the entrance to the legendary monument, the Taj Mahal in India, came crashing down to the ground recently. Now, the Indian authorities have ordered an investigation in to the causes of the crash in an effort to prevent similar incidents occurring in the future. The site is a major tourist attraction for visitors from all over the world, with the chandelier estimated to be around 2 metres high and weighing in at around 60kg. An employee was cleaning the ornament when it came crashing down, though thankfully no one was injured in the incident.

The legendary nature of the Taj Mahal is largely down to its beautiful and elegant structural architecture. The beauty of the building has been renowned throughout all continents and it is widely considered one of the many wonders of the world. Therefore the inclusion of such an opulent fixture as a chandelier is really no surprise.

Throughout the ages, the chandelier has been a mark of extravagance and majesty. Not only does it illuminate the room it hangs in, it is also a visual centre piece, attracting the eye and aesthetic intuition of the observer wherever it lays. Yet, this incident highlights the importance of quality installations, no matter how famous the building.
