Palmer Trinity School (PTS) senior, Andres Castaneda, will be finishing his senior year in Spain where he will be playing first division professional soccer for Rayo Vallecano de Madrid, S.A.D.

Palmetto Bay, FL -- (SBWire) -- 10/15/2015 --Originally from Colombia, Andres has dreamt of becoming a professional soccer player since he began playing the sport at the age of five. He was on Palmer Trinity's soccer team, where he has been a student since the sixth-grade, and also played club soccer with Real Miami F.C.

His big break came recently when he was able to try out for La Liga, Spain's first division professional soccer league. Even though the season began on August 15, he moved quickly, and after two weeks of practice won a place on the team.

Andres is looking forward to "a new culture, new people, and new horizons" as he lives out his dream. If he does well with Rayo, he hopes to return to his native Colombia and play for the country's national team.
