Seychelles, East Africa -- (SBWire) -- 10/20/2015 --Cyber attacks on numerous government websites are becoming alarming these days due to the fact that the people behind such anomalous attacks are still unidentified – making it hard for the authorities to penalized them. Such worrisome event is apparent on the latest reports that South Korea had revealed in the public where the SoKor's government organization websites in between 2011 and 2015 had experienced a massive 114,035 cyber attacks from unknown sources. And one of the factors that encourage such cyber crime to happen is the availability of private proxies, which according to the SoKor authorities, makes tracking the hackers down daunting to begin with.
Based on the reports that the South Korea government have revealed, there are 8,663 attacks on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 5, 735 attacks on the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, attacks on the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs with 5,224, while 3,093 cyber attacks were detected against the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Even the National Police Agency had received attacks from cyber hoodlums where a total of 2988 were compiled.
If the South Korea alone is experiencing cyber attacks from an unknown source, there's a probability that more cyber attacks are happening on the important websites of government organizations in other countries. Four basic types of cyber attacks have been noted, such as attempts in accessing information without permission from the webmaster, information leakages, attempt in the acquisition of authorization and information collection as well.
The cyber attacks may be tagged as "basic" but what makes it alarming is the damage and amount of information it might reveal to the public which could affect the safety and security of each and every citizen. However, the idea of prohibiting the use of private proxies due to the misuse of certain individuals is not considered because another angle that could also divulge the personal information of the people are unchecked free proxy servers they used.

Seeing that there are modifications on proxies could be a big problem since many used it to inject ads, but knowing the fact that it blocks HTTPS is alarming since there's a huge possibility that the activities of the users that is connected to the proxy will be recorded in the server. So researchers have advised people who are going to log on the internet to test the proxy server that they are using and if they find it suspicious, finding a new proxy server is the most recommended solution.
